DESCRIPTION:Thomas Paine’s “Common Sense” was one of the most influential works of the American Revolution. The first edition was published on January 10\, 1776\, with an initial print run of just 1\,000 copies\; but within weeks demand soared. The students of Andy Murphy’s POLISCI 495 course co-curated the exhibition “Revolutionary Paine” to document the whirlwind caused by its publication. The Auxiliary University Program (AUP) offers leadership and public service opportunities to Michigan students interested in making a difference through volunteer work. In the AUP\, you will have the chance to support Coast Guard missions while simultaneously participating in hands-on work and training of your choice. \n\nYou can explore a variety of opportunities\, including boating\, search and rescue\, marine safety\, disaster response\, environmental education\, environmental protection\, and more. AUP students have the unique opportunity to participate in an internship with the Coast Guard at stations around the country and on vessels that travel the globe.\n\nInterested?
