SUMMARY:Careers / Jobs:Grow Your Career Series: Finance & Accounting at Whole Foods Market
DESCRIPTION:At Whole Foods Market your growth matters. Join us for our weekly Grow your Career Series where you can learn more about career growth and opportunities!  Every week from September through October\, we will have different teams join virtual panels where students can learn about working for Whole Foods Market\, the different career paths we have\, and exciting projects we're working on.  We willanswer questions such as: “What does your day to day look like?” and“What skills do I need to be in this type of role?” and \"How has yourcareer grown at Whole Foods Market?\"  The weekly events will be dedicated to specific areas of the business (examples include: Finance\, Merchandising\, Product Management etc.) or around recruiting topicssuch as Interning at Whole Foods Market. Students can join virtually for a 45 minute experience featuring a live panel with Whole Foods Team Members from a variety of experience levels. Attendees will have the opportunityto learn about Team Members’ experiences and what they do to nourish people and the planet. There will also be time for Q&amp\;A at the end!  This week’s topic: Finance &amp\; Accounting at Whole Foods Market  AGENDA 4:00pm – 4:05pm CST | Welcome + Introductions 4:05pm – 4:35pm CST | Panel Questions 4:35pm – 4:45pm CST | Open Q&amp\;A  Please RSVP using the external link provided. SUMMARY:Workshop / Seminar:Rep Stability/Comm Alg Seminar: Strength and algebraic closure over Q
DESCRIPTION:Abstract: Strength is a fundamental invariant for forms (homogeneous polynomials) of fixed degree in many variables\, with both geometric and arithmetic applications. Over algebraically closed fields\, forms of high strength have various desirable geometric properties. In arithmetic applications (non-closed fields)\, it's therefore of considerable interest to bound the strength of a polynomial in terms of its strength over the algebraic closure. We will present a linear bound over Q\, proving a special case of a conjecture of Adiprasito\, Kazhdan and Ziegler. In the course of the proof\, we obtain a stronger result on rational solutions to systems of multi-linear equations\, which may be of independent interest.

SUMMARY:Workshop / Seminar:Simulating Chemistry on Bosonic Quantum Devices
DESCRIPTION:Bosonic quantum devices offer a novel approach to realize quantum computations\, where the quantum two-level system (qubit) is replaced with the quantum (an)harmonic oscillator (qumode) as the fundamental building block of the quantum simulator. The simulation of chemical structure and dynamics can then be achieved by representing or mapping the system Hamiltonians in terms of bosonic operators. In this talk\, we review recent progress and future potential of using bosonic quantum devices for addressing a wide range of challenging chemical problems\, including the calculation of molecular vibronic spectra\, the simulation of gas-phase and solution-phase adiabatic and nonadiabatic chemical dynamics\, the efficient solution of molecular graph theory problems\, and the calculations of electronic structure.
