SUMMARY:Conference / Symposium:10th Annual RNA Symposium
DESCRIPTION:The Center for RNA Biomedicine at the University of Michigan proudly invites you to the 2026 RNA Symposium\, convening thought leaders and pioneering researchers in the field of RNA science and biomedicine.\n\nFriday\, March 6\, 2026\nSaturday\, March 7\, 2026\n\nRNA Frontiers: From Mechanisms to Medicine\n\nThis year’s symposium explores the dynamic world of RNA\, highlighting how fundamental mechanisms and molecular machines are shaping both our understanding of cellular processes and the development of next-generation medical innovations. Through cutting-edge scientific talks and a patient advocacy panel discussion\, we will explore a wide range of topics spanning epigenetics\, genome editing\, RNA structure\, and translational research\, and discover together how RNA is propelling biological discovery from molecular intricacy to real-world impact in medicine and beyond.\n\nScheduled Speakers:\n\nShelley Berger\, Ph.D.\nUniversity of Pennsylvania\n\nKarla Neugebauer\, Ph.D.\nYale School of Medicine\n\nMadeleine Oudin\, Ph.D.\nTufts University\n\nErik Sontheimer\, Ph.D.\nUMass Chan Medical School\n\nNils Walter\, Ph.D.\nUniversity of Michigan\n\nSarah Woodson\, Ph.D.\nJohns Hopkins University\n\nOnline registration ends Friday\, February 20! SPACE IS LIMITED - Register Today! \n\n➡️ Open call for U-M student volunteers who will receive complimentary registration. Email Center Manager Paul Avedisian at paulave@umich.edu for more details!

SUMMARY:Exhibition:CAS Exhibit. Making Armenian Americans - Project Save Photograph Archive/Archive Alive Project
DESCRIPTION:Making Armenian Americans \nCurators: Michael Pifer (U-M| MES) and Kathryn Babayan (U-M|History)\nProject Save Photograph Archive/Archive Alive Project\n\nMaking Armenian Americans invites viewers into a moment of possibility in the early 20th century\, when Armenians fleeing violence at the end of the Ottoman Empire came to reinvent themselves in the promise of America. Drawn from the archives of Project Save\, these photographs capture different valences of American life\, as experienced\, performed\, and imagined by Armenian immigrants. From naturalization classes to festivals of nations\, from breaking new ground for churches to mundane tableaus of Thanksgiving and Christmas\, this range of photographs offers a glimpse of a community in the making\, one that sought to preserve a memory of its Ottoman past even while anticipating an American future.

SUMMARY:Workshop / Seminar:Hacks with Friends 2026
DESCRIPTION:Register to participate in Hacks with Friends 2026 (HWF) – a fun-filled event where you have two days to break out of your normal routine\, join a team\, build a project (or hack) from scratch\, and show it off in a competition. This year’s event will take place on Thursday\, March 5\, and Friday\, March 6\, at the Ross School of Business.\n\nSponsored by the U-M Office of the Vice President for IT and CIO\, HWF is open to staff and faculty across all four University of Michigan campuses who work with\, contribute to\, or utilize tech and IT in ways that advance the institution's mission. Whoever you are… we invite you to be a part of this “hackathon.” You never know — you might start something that could develop into a new technology that would benefit the entire university.\n\nShare your talents • Create • Build relationships • Have fun\n\nFor more information and to register\, visit: https://it.umich.edu/community/hacks-with-friends/2026
