SUMMARY:Performance:Performance of Jen Silverman's Witch
DESCRIPTION:In the town of Edmonton in Jacobean England\, the devil has come to town. Scratch\, a confident dealmaker\, offers tantalizing gifts to townsfolk in exchange for their souls: Frank aspires for power\, and trades his soul for it\, while Cuddy\, tortured with the fear that his father Sir Arthur prefers Frank to him\, trades his own for Frank’s death. However\, the soul Scratch wants the most in Edmonton is that of Elizabeth Sawyer\, the town outcast\, one dubbed to be a “witch” by a town that doesn’t know her... but to Scratch’s dismay\, Elizabeth seems to be the only person not willing to hand her soul over to the devil. As Scratch continues to chase after Elizabeth’s soul\, within Edmonton’s castle\, tension mounts. Sir Arthur mourns his wife and contemplates on his inheritance\, Winnifred grapples with the difficulties of being Frank’s lover\, and Cuddy and Frank continue a silent war to win over Sir Arthur and his money. Cuddy and Frank’s conflict coalesces in a love confession and a murder\, Winnifred seeks out the witch in town\, and Elizabeth is finally convinced to give over her soul\, in exchange the end of the world– this one\, anyway.
