In this multimedia installation on Black womanhood within the home space, Fazlalizadeh explores her childhood and adulthood within the domestic space and how it connects to the experiences of other Black women and those who had a girlhood. Using paintings, drawings, video, and reappropriated home objects, she examines her experiences of joy, rest, sadness, and fellowship in the home. Sheufelt is based in Detroit, Michigan, and recently received her MFA from the Penny W. Stamps School of Art and Design. In Here Nor There, Sheufelt uses a variety of media to blur the lines between land and body. \r\n\r\nFor the past several years, Sheufelt has spent her summers living in remote backcountry locations throughout the United States working on research projects ranging from self-directed study of emotional psychology in the wilderness to monitoring marine wildlife populations.
