This presentation examines how technology, particularly advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and automated functions, can serve as a tool to support safe mobility in later life. We critically look at technologies and assess how they benefit drivers. Results highlight high availability of ADAS among older drivers but also gaps in training and understanding that may limit safety benefits.\u00a0\n\nDr. Ren\u00e9e St. Louis is the Head of the University of Michigan Transportation Research Institute's (UMTRI) Behavioral Sciences Group, studying social and behavioral factors shaping transportation safety and mobility across the lifespan. She leads research with diverse participants and has co-authored a book on older adult mobility.\u00a0\n\nDr. Arpan Kusari is an UMTRI research faculty focused on robust challenges in vehicle automation.
