Unlike the standard Benjamin-Ono equation, the modified version is not known to be completely integrable, so we cannot rely on integrable systems tools. First, to manage the nonlocal Hilbert transform in the linear part of the equation, we split it using positive and negative frequency projections. To achieve this, the lecture will combine macro-level findings from extant scholarship with micro-level novel evidence from the Ottoman Greeks of the United States Digital History Project at Flagler College. \n\nThe lecture will cover the following subjects:\n\u2022\tThe displacement of Ottoman Greek migrants from their communities during World War I and the Greco-Turkish War.\n\u2022 Experiences of Ottoman Greek migrants fleeing from the cities of Izmir, Ordu, \u015eark\u00f6y, Semendire, and \u00dcrg\u00fcp.\n\u2022 Experiences of Ottoman Greeks during their settlement in Michigan.\n\u2022 Experiences of second- and third-generation descendants of Ottoman Greeks during their formative years in Michigan.\n\nDr. Yiorgo Topalidis received a doctorate in Sociology from the University of Florida in 2022. Yiorgo\u2019s research interests are emigration from the Ottoman Empire to the US and White identity construction, contestation, and transgenerational memory transfer.
