For example, there is still much to be learned about the process by which hadrons are formed from color charged quarks and gluons (hadronization). The LHCb detector offers a unique opportunity to study this process in terms of the flavor of quarks involved in the hard scattering process, enabling measurements of the fragmentation process in heavy flavor jets with unprecedented precision. The unique features of these data motivate both a substantial effort to extract high precision measurements of heavy and light flavor jets, as well as an effort to preserve and provide open access to these data for the physics and data science communities to explore. In this talk, I will review recent jet fragmentation function measurements from LHCb in comparison to global measurements.
