In this course, we will use a sociological lens to compare and contrast the education, public health, and criminal legal systems in the United States and Denmark.\n\nDuring our three weeks abroad, we will examine the causes and consequences of racism, socioeconomic disparities, and other social inequalities within the Copenhagen community. By immersing yourself in Danish culture, you will learn about the country's unique norms, values, and policies, and how they differ from American ways of living.\u00a0Through visits to community organizations, conversations with guest speakers, and cultural excursions, you will gain firsthand insight into Danish society.\n\nBy engaging in ongoing reflection and active learning, you will develop a greater awareness of your social identities within a global context, deepen your understanding of your own worldview, and consider your role as an agent of social change.
