It highlights Differential Privacy (DP),a cryptography-based method designed to balance data privacy and utility in a quantified way. However, despite DP's advancements and explicit warnings (e.g., Kifer and Machanavajjhala, 2011\u201cNo free lunch in data privacy\u201d;Tschantz et al, 2022,\u201cSoK:Differential privacy as a causal property\u201d),misconceptions about its resistance to adversaries' prior knowledge persist. By revisiting Warner's (1965, JASA) randomized response mechanism, we argue that this misperception lies in treating data as static objects, rather than realizations of underlying, typically interdependent attributes or variables. We show how DP's effectiveness can falter when adversaries exploit interdependencies among individuals\u2014similar to how quarantining only symptomatic individuals fails to stop an airborne disease. A holistic statistical perspective on joint modeling data is therefore as crucial for data privacy as for data analysis. Rainbows appear across the spectrum of our collections, and this exhibit includes a handwritten illuminated manuscript, practical color manuals of the industrial age, contemporary artists\u2019 and children\u2019s books, and more from our vast holdings. \r\n\r\nRainbows have captivated people for all of recorded history. It\u2019s hard not to think of them as physical objects, but they are really just distorted images of the sun, positioned around the viewer\u2019s head. They require someone to perceive them to exist, and thus have much in common with colors and color theory in general. And, like colors, they are about relationships: of one color next to another, and of colors and the people who see them.
