She also holds a Master of Arts from Eastern Michigan University and has completed post-graduate studio coursework at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Maryland Institute College of Art, Rhode Island School of Design, and Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts.\n\nThompson taught visual art in the Ann Arbor Public Schools for 34 years and has also taught at the University of Michigan School of Education and Washtenaw Community College. She exhibits her work both locally and nationally and was a member of the Clay Gallery. She continues her practice in her home studio and at the Potters Guild in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She is a member of the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts and the Michigan Ceramic Art Association. Her work is included in the permanent collection of the International Dinnerware Museum.\n\nThompson\u2019s work has been inspired by the natural world since childhood. Although she initially studied biology in college, she later shifted her focus to visual art. The textures, colors, and forms in her pieces are drawn directly from nature.\nSeeds\u2014structures that have enabled plants to move through space and time for over 600 million years\u2014are central to her recent work. They are vital to the continuation of plant life, and therefore to human survival.\n\nIn this exhibition, Thompson explores the unseen structures of seeds as revealed through electron microscopy. These images highlight the intricate beauty and ingenuity of nature, which she interprets through her wall-mounted ceramic sculptures.\n\nAt a time when our planet and its ecosystems face increasing threats, Thompson\u2019s work serves as a reminder of the importance of preserving the natural world. Describe guidelines for diagnosing problems in survey questions and writing new survey questions. Jen\u2019s research focuses on survey methodology, identifying sources of errors produced in the process of gathering standardized measurements and developing and implementing methods to reduce those errors. This work examines three main areas of inquiry: questionnaire design, methods to increase response rates, and interviewer-respondent interaction. As Faculty Director, Jen oversees a program of methodological research that incorporates experiments and evaluations in ongoing projects. Her research has appeared in a number of journals including Public Opinion Quarterly, Journal of Survey Statistics and Methodology, Social Science Computer Review, and Field Methods, and edited volumes including the Handbook of Survey Research and Advances in Questionnaire Design, Development, Evaluation and Testing. He was the first person to graduate from the University of Michigan with a master\u2019s degree in carillon performance (admittedly, a little ostentatious). He then went on to study at the Royal Carillon School of Belgium as a fellow of the Belgian American Educational Foundation, graduating with distinction. He subsequently earned a Doctor of Musical Arts in Organ Performance from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. During a global pandemic, he decided it would be a good time to earn a degree in Speech-Language Pathology with a focus on voice disorders.\n\nDr. Chesman has dedicated his career to a deep study of diverse facets of music. His research in pedagogy has resulted in the book *Making Music on the Carillon* and two albums with Alfred Music of the music for the Suzuki Organ School, volumes 7 and 8. His invited masterclasses have taken him to such institutions as Yale University and the Universities of Michigan and Texas. As speech-language pathologist, he has presented research on the aging voice, caring for vocal performers, and laryngeal health. He performs regularly on organ, carillon, and harp in such exotic locales as Australia, Canada, France, Belgium, Sweden, Portugal, and the Netherlands. But because the Buhr stacks are closed from browsing, the density and dimensionality of its nearly 3 million books are reduced to title searches on a screen.\n\nAs a response to these reflections, artist and library staff member Stephanie Osorio shares her handbound unopenable book-objects as symbolic stand-ins for forgotten books at Buhr \u2014 the books that don\u2019t get a chance to be noticed.
