Francis Kelsey, the museum\u2019s namesake, was forward-thinking in his approach to archaeology, and as a result, the Kelsey has wonderful collections of everyday items used by people from the ancient Mesopotamian, Egyptian, and Roman worlds\u2014items their previous owners never would have expected to be protected behind glass. During this tour, we will discuss how these items were used (and recycled) and how they were preserved for thousands of years. We will be looking at trash and treasure alike.
