Resolve, the primary instrument on XRISM, provides high-resolution (~5 eV) X-ray spectra of various X-ray sources, including extended sources like galaxy clusters. This capability enables direct kinematic mapping of hot gas in many galaxy clusters for the first time. In this talk, I will highlight some of the results from observations of galaxy clusters taken during the first year of the mission. Even more recently, this traveling\r\nwave study has expanded to a larger family of dissipative fluid systems including compressible flows,\r\nfluids obeying Darcy\u2019s law, and the shallow water equations.\r\nThis talk focuses specifically on the shallow water equation\u2019s version of the water wave problem.\r\nThe shallow water equations, which are derived from the free boundary Navier-Stokes equations\r\nwith Navier slip boundary conditions via a rescaling, asymptotic expansion, and depth-averaging\r\nprocedure, are both mathematically and computationally important. For these equations we shall\r\ndiscuss three recent results: (1) the traveling wave problem and the limits of vanishing viscosity\r\nand capillarity, (2) the existence of families of two-dimensional roll wave solutions, and (3) the\r\nstationary wave problem with variable bathymetry and the nature of large solutions.\r\nThese theorems are unified by the fact the main engine of their proofs is the implicit function\r\ntheorem, although each result utilizes a different manifestation.
