Born in Chicago to Punjabi immigrant parents, he earned a B.A. in Philosophy from Loyola University Chicago, an M.F.A. in Creative Writing from the University of Michigan, and a Ph.D. in English from Ohio University. Bolina currently resides in Florida, where he serves as Chair of the Department of English and Creative Writing and teaches in the M.F.A. program at the University of Miami.\n\nOften blending personal narrative with politics and metaphysics, Bolina\u2019s poetry is noted for its investigation of the \u201cperceptual and sonic ground\u201d of modern life. He is the author of four full-length poetry collections, including his debut *Carrier Wave* (2007)\u2014adapted from his M.F.A. thesis at the University of Michigan\u2014 *Phantom Camera *(2013), and *The 44th of July* (2019). His most recent collection, *English as a Second Language and Other Poems* (2023), which was awarded the 2025 Kingsley Tufts Poetry Award from Claremont Graduate University, continues his deep dive into cultural identity. We seek to bring together an interdisciplinary group to collaborate on topics related to our three research pillars: 1) supply chain discourse and governance, 2) supply chain gender inequities, and 3) barriers to equitable supply chain research and practice. Our interdisciplinary approach addresses the intersections of gender, power asymmetries, and economic exploitation in global production networks. Recent industry research shows that progress on gender representation in supply chains has stalled, demonstrating a need for sustained academic engagement (2024 Women in Supply Chain Survey Report | Gartner).\u00a0\nResearch questions we plan to explore include:To what extent do supply chain theory and discourse rely on or reinforce patriarchal values?What gender-based inequities and power asymmetries exist in global production networks?
