- "Go in with a game plan because the long lines can be disorienting"
- "Remember people's names from the companies you are interested in. It will make it easier to follow up with them in the future
- "I would have been less stressed out if I was more organized"
- "Come prepared and knowing what position(s) you are interested in. Most importantly, be able to explain why you're interested in it"

Interested in Refugee and Asylum Law, the Fulbright Program, or the International Refugee Assistance Project? Learn from PICS alumna Nicole Khamis (BA ‘17) through her abroad experiences in Jordan and her current work at the American Civil Liberties Union of Michigan. Please RSVP at the following link to attend: http://myumi.ch/51Ogy

Nicole Khamis graduated in 2017 from the University of Michigan with majors in International Studies and Middle Eastern and North African Studies. During her time as a student, Nicole founded the Michigan Refugee Assistance Program, a nonprofit organization which serves to utilize students as resources for recently resettled refugees during the global refugee crisis. In her first year as a post-graduate, Nicole was awarded a Fulbright Fellowship, and lived in Jordan while working for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees as a teacher. During her time in Jordan, Nicole also interned with the International Refugee Assistance Project (IRAP), where she worked as a translator and legal intern. With these experiences and exposures to the injustices and structural inequalities refugees face, Nicole hopes to go to law school in the near future and specialize in Refugee and Asylum Law. Currently, Nicole is a volunteer at the American Civil Liberties Union of Michigan.

Cipher Tech Virtual Cybersecurity Challenge - University of Michigan (February 14, 2020 12:00am) https://events.umich.edu/event/72202 72202-17957276@events.umich.edu Event Begins: Friday, February 14, 2020 12:00am
Location:
Organized By: University Career Center

Objective:
The Cipher Tech Challenge is an online cybersecurity challenge for students and professionals interested in a career in forensic software development. Over the course of a 2-week period, you will encounter challenges that will have you perform the same tasks that forensic software developers do every day. Questions will prompt for free response (e.g. submit an IP address or identify the attacker's name) and challenge your critical thinking skills.

First place will win an iPad with the rest of the top 10 participants taking home a battery pack! There will also be a raffle for a pair of Apple Airpods for those that participate. You may not receive any assistance from anyone else. You must participate within the event time frame listed above.

Resources
All that you need to participate in the Cipher Tech Challenge is a computer with an Internet connection and a modern browser (latest versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge). An installation of Kali Linux is recommended to get the full experience, but it is not required. During the challenge, you will need to utilize your problem-solving skills and Internet resources to solve challenges related to forensic software development.

Having trouble with the platform? You can open a Support Ticket on our system and someone will get back to you ASAP.

Engineered immune cellsare emerging as a revolutionary therapy that may transform outcomes for cancer patients. Two of these therapies based on chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) technology have received FDA approval and helped extremely ill patients where other therapies have failed - up to 90% of advanced relapsed or refractory B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL) patients in clinical studies saw complete remission of their disease. But a truly novel modality like this - where a patient’s own immune cells are extracted, engineered, and reintroduced to attack their cancer - comes with unprecedented scientific, technical, and operational challenges. Here at BCG, we have partnered with leading biopharmaceutical companies to explore novel strategies to discover, develop, and deliver cell therapies to patients with true unmet need. Garner Soltes, Project Leader from our BCG NewJersey office, will lead this virtual session and walk through his specific experience on a BCG client case, where he, alongside a team of BCG consultants, developed a 10-year strategy and plan to help this client explore and succeed in the emerging cell therapy space.

Are you ready to start searching for a great internship? Do you have a few ideas, but you’re not sure where to get started? Wherever you’re at: that's ok!

Get real time, personalized support by checking out the Internship Lab. It's designed as a drop-in hour, so come when you can during this time. It's a place for you to search for and find a great internship experience!

Chat with folks from the University Career Center to explore Handshake, the University Career Alumni Network (UCAN) and to learn about other tools you can use to build a great job/internship search strategy.

**If you're not sure what you're interested in, consider making an "Exploring Major/Career Option" appointment to get started clarifying your interests with a career coach in a 1-on-1 setting.

**If you're a Graduate Student, please make a 1:1 appointment instead of attending the Lab because this event is designed for undergraduates.

Note: This event's information is shown in Handshake as well as on the Happening@ Michigan calendar so that it will be seen by a larger number of U-M Students. If you'd like to indicate that you'll be attending this event then please go to: https://umich.joinhandshake.com/events/434514
