Students have been, and continue to be at the forefront of movements to build a better future for our country. But students only make real progress when they’re organized, have the skills to be effective, and have a strategic plan to get things done. That’s where we come in: For almost 50 years, the Student PIRGs have been working to amplify the power of student activism. We help students make real change, right now, that will help all Americans to live meaningful lives and have a greener and healthier future.

For example, PIRG students are working to ensure young people are full participants in the political process by helping to turn out the vote in local, state and national elections through our New Voters Project. In the fall of 2020, we made nearly 400,000 peer-to-peer personal reminder contacts in the weeks leading up to Election Day. Our hard work paid off and we saw record turnout among young people. We’re keeping up this momentum and aim to help more than 50 campuses get to full voter participation by building strong coalitions on campus that reach all students — from the College Democrats and the College Republicans, to Greek Life organizations and sports teams, to multicultural groups and student governments.

We all want to live meaningful lives in a world that's greener and healthier. That's the future our campus organizers work to build every day. If you want a career working with great people, gaining real skills and start making a difference on important issues right away, this could be a good fit for you.

Healthcare Moneyball —Associate Level Position in Healthcare Consulting with IQVIA! (October 21, 2021 5:00pm) https://events.umich.edu/event/88021 88021-21648626@events.umich.edu Event Begins: Thursday, October 21, 2021 5:00pm
Location:
Organized By: University Career Center

Why Moneyball?

No worries, we aren’t looking for candidates with backgrounds in sports, reading Michael Lewis novels, or indulging in Brad Pitt movies. In the early 2000s, the Oakland Athletics baseball team implemented enhanced statistical insights to understand the real value of players, as opposed to “old-school” approaches that are outdated, subjective, and often flawed. Using enhanced insights, the A’s remained a competitive baseball team despite having limited funds to pay high-value players and managers – their unique approach to better gain insight about players had ushered in an era of new thinking to the game and enhanced insights are now a necessity to “play ball” in every industry.

In our world of healthcare, ongoing changes in patient insurance coverage, continued impacts from COVID-19, increasing industry consolidation, and the growth in expensive transformative therapeutics continue to challenge the life sciences landscape. These changes at a macro-level have ripple effects across the country. For example, the “greying” of theUS is leading to approximately 15 M people enrolling in Medicare over thenext ten years, but this impact is likely to increase more so in specific states and geographies. Furthermore, the growth in high deductibles continue to drive higher costs across the landscape of various treatment options.

As a result, we support our clients by developing “Moneyball” like solutions to provide better insights for our clients to adapt to demanding market. Our team uses the power of healthcare data to help manufacturers measure the impact of market access on brand performance and the cascading influence this has on how prescribers and patients gain access toinnovative therapies. We support manufacturers by providing deep insightsinto the geographic variations of patient, insurer, and prescriber behavior and thereby help manufacturers implement more effective strategies for sales execution, insurer contracting, net revenue optimization, and all varieties of patient assistance programs.

The Market Access Strategy Consulting team at IQVIA is comprised of team members with degrees from some of the world’s top institutions. As a new hire, you will be provided on-the-job training that will allow you to develop the skills and business acumen necessary to successfully navigate the largest and most comprehensive set of US healthcare data assets. The knowledge and experience you build as an Associate will prepare you to generate high-quality insights and analytics for senior leaders at the top pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies in the US to address a wide variety of evolving business needs.

Please join for a deeper dive into the type of work IQVIA’s MarketAccess Strategy Consulting team does daily. You will hear from two of ourtop Principals – Rahel Ehrenberg and Sayantan Niyogi. They will also let you in on some case study secrets, so don’t miss out! Market Access represents one of the most critical barriers to patients accessing the therapies they need. Health insurers restrict patient access to therapies thatcarry less value for them, posing an obvious puzzle for us to solve.

IQVIA, the Human Data Science Company™, possesses the largest and mostcomprehensive set of healthcare data assets in the world. Join us as we focus on using data, analytics and strategy to help healthcare clients find better solutions for their patients. Formed through the merger of IMS Health and Quintiles, IQVIA offers a broad range of solutions that harness advances in healthcare information, technology, analytics and human ingenuity to drive healthcare forward.

Are you ready to start searching for a great internship? Do you have a few ideas, but you’re not sure where to get started? Let's talk about strategy.

Get real-time, personalized support by checking out the virtual Internship Lab. You’ll be guided by one of our Career Coaches who has designed this experience to provide you strategies, tools, and motivation to get on the right track with searching for internships.

Chat with folks from the University Career Center to explore Handshake, the University Career Alumni Network (UCAN) and to learn about other tools you can use to build a great job/internship search strategy.

**If you're not sure what you're interested in, consider making an "Exploring Major/Career Option" appointment to get started clarifying your interests with a career coach in a 1-on-1 setting.

**If you're a Graduate Student, please make a 1:1 appointment instead of attending the Lab because this event is designed for undergraduates.

Note: This event's information is shown in Handshake as well as on the Happening @ Michigan calendar so that it will be seen by a larger number of U-M Students. If you'd like to indicate that you'll be attending this event then please go to: https://umich.joinhandshake.com/events/811572

This is the 1st of 3 information sessions about our DFA program and the application process. This unique, two-year rotational fellowship sits at the intersection of the federal government and the financial services industry. Director’s Financial Analysts are given the opportunity to hone analytical and problem-solving skills while helping to make markets for consumer financial products work for Americans. As a result, in a short period of time, analysts will play an integral role in everything the Bureau does, from rigorous data-driven policy creation and market monitoring to on-site supervision of market participants. Director’s Financial Analysts have used the program to develop their professional skills and grow their public service networks within a collaborative cohort environment. Alumni of the DFA program have moved on to competitive graduate programs (e.g. Stanford Law, Princeton MPP, Dartmouth MBA), public sector opportunities (e.g. DC city government, Federal Reserve Banks), private industry, and other divisions within the CFPB. All analysts will complete developmental rotations in offices throughout the CFPB. These rotations are designed to provide exposure to the analysis, strategy, research, education, policy development, supervision, enforcement, and rulemaking activities throughout the Bureau. We are recruiting for positions that begin after the 2021-2022 academic year.

FOR MORE INFORMATION Please encourage interested students to send an email to CFPB_DFA_Program@cfpb.gov.

Ten industry-leading agencies are proud to welcome you to PRoviding Choices, a virtual job fair for PR pros looking to relocate from Texas, as a result of that state’s abortion ban, the countries most restrictive, or are located elsewhere but want to work for employers who support a human’s reproductive rights.

The job fair starts at 7 a.m. CDT on Nov. 4 and will run for 30 days. Each agency will showcase the many roles available in PR and communications.. While the job fair is free to attend and open to all, it is specifically geared to help those looking to relocate from Texas and other states that seek to subject individuals to dangerous restrictions or impose reckless vigilante justice.

PRoviding Choices is a safe space for job seekers of all types, with job openings ranging from entry-level and above. Attendees are encouraged to visit each booth, and gather professional insights along with potential job opportunities.
