SUMMARY:Exhibition:Creating the Future of Medicine for 175 Years
DESCRIPTION:As the Medical School celebrates the anniversary of its opening in the fall of 1850\, and Michigan Medicine marks the 100th anniversary of the opening of the \"Old Main\" University Hospital that served as its flagship from 1925 to 1986\, a free museum exhibit explores 175 years of medical education\, research and clinical care. \n\nOpen to the public at the Museum on Main Street operated by the Washtenaw County Historical Society\, the exhibit includes artifacts\, photos and facts about how U-M's medical community grew from humble beginnings on the Diag to become one of the nation's largest and most respected academic medical centers. It also asks visitors to ponder their own attitudes and experiences\, and to submit memories and photos of their time working\, studying\, volunteering or receiving care at U-M's medical campus and beyond. There are also activities for young visitors.\n\nThe museum is open to the public every Saturday and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.\n\nFull details about the exhibit\, including parking instructions and how to book a free private group tour on a weekday\, are available at http://michmed.org/museum\n\nThe museum has an accessible entrance at the rear of the building.

Having recently signed up with Primary Talent as booking agents 2026 promises to be an incredible year of touring for the supergroup with an extensive Irish\, UK and US tour soon to be announced\, among other hugely exciting ventures.\n\nThe flock of BIIRDs is made up of Lisa on harp\, banjo\, vocals\; Laura Doherty on fiddle and guitar\; Zoran Donohoe on concertina\; Sal Heneghan on fiddle and harp\; Miadhachlughain O’Donnell on flute and vocals\; Nicole Lonergan on fiddle\; Niamh Hinchy on vocals and synth\; Aoife Kelly on cello\; Ciara Ní Mhurchú on fiddle\; Hannah Hiemstra on drums\; and Claire Loughran on fiddle and harp.

SUMMARY:Well-being:Heartfulness Meditation
DESCRIPTION:Heartfulness Guided Meditation is a weekly\, drop-in program designed to help you Mental well-being. \n\nAll U-M students\, faculty\, and staff are welcome to participate in guided meditation practice with a trainer every Friday at noon over Zoom (details to join are provided below). No prior experience with meditation is required. \n\n*What will you learn?*\n\nThe guided meditation practice involves three simple steps: relaxation\, rejuvenation\, and meditation.\n\nRelaxation brings your body to a calm\, steady posture creating a stillness at the physical level\, and prepares the mind for meditation. Lastly\, learning to meditate by being mindful of your heart will connect you with yourself by listening to your heart’s voice. \n\n*Why Meditate?*\n\nWhile physical fitness keeps our bodies in shape\, meditation is an exercise for the mind and mental wellness. In addition to the measurable benefits mentally and physically\, many people benefit from an unquantifiable inner poise and harmony. \n\n*Please take Learn to Meditate session if you are new to the practice. These sessions are offered Monthly.* https://events.umich.edu/event/128708\n\n*Event Details*\n\nHeartfulness Guided Meditation \nFridays from 12-12:30 p.m. ET (except during university season days / holidays)\nJoin Via Zoom Meeting\nRegister to receive Passcode (see “Related links”\n\n\nThis wellness program is coordinated by ITS Teaching & Learning and provided at no cost by heartfulness.org.

SUMMARY:Rally / Mass Meeting:Dine to Donate @ Pita Way to support Autistic Students @ UM
DESCRIPTION:The Autism Spectrum Club (ASC) is hosting its first ever fundraiser with Pita Way (primarily because it is our usual hotspot for dinner events for this group). Visit Pita Way in Downtown Ann Arbor between 4-9pm\, mention this flyer/the ASC/this fundraiser\, and Pita Way will donate 20% of your sales to the ASC.\nThe purpose of this organization is intended to be a safe space strictly for Autistic people that is managed entirely by Autistic people. Its goals are to give us rest from the stress of life\, provide social interaction in a way that fits us as Autistic people\, give assistance navigating the issues of life\, and give kindness and support to one another when we struggle. It also provides informational events for non-autistic individuals and occasionally hosts advocacy based opportunities for students and faculty alike.\nFunds will be used to support members through fun and casual events\, informational events that may require or benefit from financial support (ie. food based advertising\, demonstrations)\, conferences and symposiums supporting autistic or otherwise disabled individuals\, or to support the Disability Mentorship Program (which the ASC is a primary founder of). \nIf you are interested in engaging further with the ASC\, please feel free to email me at ASCUmich@gmail.com.
