The goals of this seminar are to deepen participants’ understanding of the scope of the problem of maltreatment of minors engaged in activities with college and university personnel, to consider parallels to other situations involving abuse of minors, as well as examine evidence-based interventions and best practices designed to reduce risk and increase their protection. An additional focus will be on policies, procedures and practices related to discovering, reporting, and intervening when concerns about minor safety emerge. Discussions will center on proposed solutions that promote effective responses to child safety concerns on campus and that can be tested.
