Duncan McCargo, Professor of Southeast Asian Politics, University of Leeds/Columbia University

Duncan McCargo is Professor of Southeast Asian Politics at the University of Leeds. He is best known as a specialist on contemporary Thailand, where he regularly conducts extended fieldwork, most recently for the whole of 2012. McCargo divides his time between Britain and New York, where he is a Visiting Scholar at the Weatherhead East Asian Institute, Columbia University, and an Associate Fellow at Asia Society. His most recent book is Mapping National Anxieties: Thailand's Southern Conflict (NIAS 2012). He currently holds a Leverhulme Trust Major Research Fellowship to work on politics and justice in Thailand.
