Bass Bash is a festival hosted by Profs. Diana Gannett, Robert Hurst, and Michael Hopkins for beginning, intermediate, and advanced classical and jazz bass students in grades 6-12. Students will play in small ensembles, take a technique class, work on a massed ensemble piece, and give a short informal performance at 4 PM that is free and open to the public. Guests include Yung-Chiao Wei, professor of bass, LSU, double bass, and Kevin Brown, new principal of DSO. Registration required. Visit music.umich.edu/bassbash for information. 10AM-5PM
