Participants will have an opportunity to expand their understanding and appreciation of the American Civil War by examining information and data: (1)about the regional disputes and disagreements that led to the four year deadly struggle, (2)about the common soldiers, (3)about the army hierarchy and the men who led the soldiers into battle, (4)about the major battles, and (5)about the tactical, technological, and strategic changes that occurred during the Civil War. The class, taught by John Dietz, will involve discussion, lecture, videos, and the Internet.

This class for those over 50 meets Mondays, March 16 - April 13.
