The class will cover the particles of modern physics leading to the Higgs boson using DVD lectures by Professor Steven Pollack, aimed at the non-specialist. We will view two 30 minute lectures per class, each followed by 20 minutes for questions and discussion. Dick Chase, the study group leader, worked 27 years as a research physicist for Ford and taught physics at several levels. This class for those over 50 meets September 16 - December 16. No class on September 23 or November 25.
