Our mass meeting will include an introduction to the club's stucture and expectations, as well as our first Forum Discussion. Forum Discussions explore concepts in the field through interactive discussion, lead by a leader-prepared powerpoint presentation with discussion questions. It gives students a chance to delve into concepts at their own pace by discussing ideas and inquiries with peers in a no-pressure setting, or just listening and learning more about what their cohorts have been exploring and thinking about. This week we will be considering visual perception: how do we navigate between what we perceive and expect? Should we consider visualization to be perceptual or conceptual? What happens when we see something that isn't there? Come prepared to share and learn new ways to look at the world around us.
