Yoga is one of the most popular cultural exports to the world from Indian traditions. Its origins date back five thousand years and it has evolved over the period, both philosophically and through religious practices. The metaphysics of Yoga is rooted in Hindu, Buddhist, and Jain religious traditions. The lectures and discussions will include the history, metaphysics, and Yoga's modern day evolution. (There will be no demonstrations or instructions of Yoga practice). Instructor: Lakshminarayanan Venkat. This class meets September 30 - November 4.
