Presented By: Center for Global and Intercultural Study
Senegal Info Session
Located on the westernmost tip of Africa, Senegal’s stunning Atlantic coastline, friendly people, moderate climate, and developing economy make this one of Africa’s most accessible nations.
In Dakar, Senegal’s cosmopolitan capital, take a variety of courses at the West African Research Center, a portal into study of West Africa, the African Continent, and the Black Diaspora. Study West African culture and develop your skills in French and Wolof, a regional sub-Saharan language.
Many of the courses you take will include excursions in and around Dakar related to your coursework. On-site staff organize a guided visit to Gorée Island, which served as a point of no return for West Africans being sold into slavery. And you will spend 4 days in the Toubacouta region in southern Senegal, including an overnight with a host family in a rural village.
Learn more from returned students and program staff about this incredible opportunity to study in western Africa.
