U-M scholars whose work centers on incarcerated women, will speak to current issues, major gaps in knowledge, common problems and the societal impact of women in prisons. This informal roundtable discussion will be part of a larger conversation, culminating in a public lecture by Piper Kerman, author of the memoir Orange is the New Black: My Year in a Women’s Prison, in Rackham auditorium on October 13.
