Wikipedia Edit-a thon to Celebrate Open Access Week
Join us as we work to improve, translate and expand upon articles related to open access in Wikipedia. No prior experience in editing Wikipedia is necessary; all levels of expertise are welcome. We’ll train you! With an Open Access Week theme of “Open for Collaboration,” Wikipedia could not be a more perfect tool to highlight collaboration during this year’s celebration. Light refreshments will be provided.
Please bring a laptop or a mobile device to do your edits. Or, we can arrange a laptop for your use; if you need one, please let us know by noon on October 19. Contact Ye Li (liye@umich.edu) or Sue Wortman (swortman@umich.edu) with your request or with any questions.
This Library Open Access Committee event is a part of the Wikipedia Library OA Week Edit-a-thon, and contributions will be logged for that initiative. If you can’t make this session please consider signing up for a virtual edit-a-thon (https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/The_Wikipedia_Library/OA_week) by the Wikipedia Library and the Scholarly Publishing and Academic Resources Coalition (SPARC).
