Apply to Chicago Fall Break Immersion! (Fashion/Publishing/Sales)
The Career Center is kicking off the fall semester of Immersions with a trip to Chicago for Fall Break! This Immersion will be Fashion, Publishing, and Sales focused and will spotlight two companies: Guerrero Howe Media and Trunk Club.
Due to the large amount of interest for this event, applications were accepted and evaluated on a rolling basis and first round invitations have been sent out to those who have submitted an application and were selected. The application period has closed.
Guerrero Howe creates custom media that matters. They publish 6 industry-leading magazines, craft client-driven print and digital media, and produce events that connect powerful business leaders. Guerrero Howe’s publications serve as a lens for the world, aiming to be where executives across the continent look to see the projects and best practices of successful counterparts in their industry. Trunk Club is a rapidly growing men’s clothing service based in Chicago. They’ve grown their team to more than 1,000 people in five short years. Traditional retail or e-commerce doesn’t work well for most guys, and they’ve built a business around the idea that there’s a better way. Trunk club hires stylists, marketing and advertising professionals, and sales representatives. (https://www.trunkclub.com/careers)
Monday will be utilized as a travel day and transportation will be provided from the Career Center departing on October 19th at 11AM. Students may choose to take the bus from Ann Arbor (a $10 transportation fee), or can meet up with our group in Chicago. The Immersion will take place on Tuesday visiting the two companies, and we will depart back to Ann Arbor after the second site visit wraps up around 3PM. Students are responsible for their hotel accommodations in Chicago, and selected participants will have the opportunity to connect with other students who will be attending the trip to see if room shares are of interest to reduce cost.
This Immersion will also include an evening networking session with the University of Michigan Chicago Alumni Club - an awesome opportunity to connect with other Wolverines!
Students must be able to attend the full Immersion to participate. Career Center staff will be along with you on the Immersion to guide you through the trip, and more details will be provided to the selected participants.
