Enacting Social Change Through Service
Part of the Ginsberg Center's Learning In Community workshop series
Interested in promoting a more just society? Do you want your service-learning work to contribute to positive social change? Do you wonder how to challenge inequality and oppression in the world? Join other students and Ginsberg Center for Community Service and Learning and the School of Social Work staff to talk about these questions in this first Learning in Community workshop.
Through activities and discussions, you will discover how to consider different structures of oppression, and you will gain the knowledge to engage with community partners to challenge injustice and inequality. Join us to learn critical reflection, social analysis, and other strategies that will enable you to work in community and create social justice in the world around you. RSVP by Thursday, November 12th!
The Learning In Community Workshop Series supports students who are interested in community service, advocacy, activism, and social justice. Participants gain knowledge of the root causes behind social issues, and the skills to work with others across social and cultural differences to support positive social change. Participants have the chance to learn from professionals from local community organizations and from their fellow U-M student leaders.
