Presented By: Center for Global and Intercultural Study
GCC Germany/Netherlands Info Session
On the GCC Germany/Netherlands—International Community Organizing
program, engage immigrant and youth populations in Berlin and Amsterdam and work with at-risk youth.
In northern Europe’s current climate of economic turmoil, concern over cultural evolution and transition, and occasional political and religious extremism, conservative integration and immigration laws and restrictive social policies have gained in popularity. National identity and cultural-linguistic issues have become open and sensitive questions.
On this program, work with local universities and grassroots community organizations to understand what innovative and effective social policies are possible in this climate. Examine community practices, models of comparative policy work, and practical steps for community-based work. Compare social problems and solutions in Berlin and Amsterdam with those in US urban centers undergoing their own structural changes, such as Detroit.
At this info session, learn more about this program, how to apply, and how to secure financial aid.
