Transgender Day of Remembrance Ceremony
Transgender Day of Remembrance Ceremony is an event commemorating trans individuals killed by transphobia and cissexism. It is also a time to honor trans living and the beauty of trans lives.
Please join us on Thursday, November 19th at 7 PM in the West Quad Connector.
(The Connector is the tunnel that connects the Union to West Quad. From the Union, you can access it by going through the doors past the Computer Showcase. From the outside, you can access it through the entrance on Madison St. across from South Quad.)
This event will feature trans-identified speakers both from the University and the larger Metro-Detroit community. We will have a moment of silence, followed by candle lighting, and end with a performance.
Friends and allies, please remember that this event centers trans people and their lives and experiences. We ask that those attending be respectful of the environment and occasion.
