THE DECISION TO GO TO WAR IN A DEMOCRACY
Arlene Saxonhouse, Professor of Political Science - U of M
Dr. Saxonhouse will discuss the question of responsibility or who should be held accountable when states decide to go to war. She will use specific incidents from Athenian history and from Shakespeare’s play, "Henry V." She will address the implications of various answers to the question for our understanding of justice and democracy.

The next OLLI Thursday Lecture Series is "Biomedical Breakthroughs: The Future is Here," and the first of six lectures will be, "Research Breakthroughs in the Diagnosis, Treatment, and Prevention of Alzheimer's."
