Delta Tau Lambda Sorority, Inc. and Sigma Lambda Beta International Fraternity, Inc. are Latino-based organizations with multicultural membership who share goals of academic excellence and community service. The purpose of Right to Success is to introduce successful and underrepresented students from Grand Rapids Public High Schools to their older counterparts in a university setting here at the University of Michigan. Additionally, we wish to assist students begin and/or continue their applications while welcoming all students to Michigan’s diverse campus. We hope that this experience will change the limited perspective of higher education in urban schools due to cultural and socioeconomic barriers. Together, we will be able to build students’ confidence in applying to the University of Michigan by welcoming them into a strong and diverse community, as many have the potential to shape the dynamic of student life, but may not have had the opportunity to begin exploring the option.
