Screening: CNN Documentary, "Documented"
Recently, the Washtenaw ID Project has partnered with the School of Social Work for a 2 month Solidarity in Action campaign! To kick off the campaign, we will be having a film screening you won’t want to miss! Please join us for free food and a screening of the CNN documentary, "Documented", highlighting journalist Jose Antonio Vargas' journey in coming out as undocumented and advocating for immigration reform.
After the film, you will have the chance to hear from Javier Contreras-Uribe, an undergrad student who is under DACA status. Javier will lead us in a dialogue and brief Q&A!
This will be an opportunity to enjoy some great food, learn more about the effects of not having a valid photograph ID, and how you can join the movement by getting your very own Washtenaw County ID!
Please RSVP (jessieam@umich.edu) if you plan to attend so that we are sure to have enough food!
