Spring Break Immersion in Washington DC! Visit FBI & Partnership for Public Service

The Career Center will be taking a trip to our nation’s capitol in Washington DC to provide students an Immersion opportunity to visit two organizations, Partnership for Public Service and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)! On an Immersion, students have the opportunity to tour the office space, network with employers, learn some inside tricks and tips about the industry, as well as inquire about internship or job opportunities with our employers.

The Partnership for Public Service is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that believes good government starts with good people. They help government serve the needs of all Americans by strengthening the civil service and the systems that are supposed to support it. They pursue this goal by: Providing assistance to federal agencies to improve their management and operations, and to strengthen their leadership capacity; Conducting outreach to college campuses and job seekers to promote public service; Identifying and celebrating government’s successes so they can be replicated across government; Advocating for needed legislative and regulatory reforms to strengthen the civil service; Generating research on, and effective responses to, the workforce challenges facing our federal government; and Enhancing public understanding of the valuable work civil servants perform.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is an intel-driven national security and law enforcement agency, providing leadership and making a difference for more than a century.
Their mission is to help protect you, your children, your communities, and your businesses from the most dangerous threats facing our nation—from international and domestic terrorists to spies on U.S. soil…from cyber villains to corrupt government officials…from mobsters to violent street gangs…from child predators to serial killers. Along the way, they help defend and uphold our nation’s economy, physical and electronic infrastructure, and democracy. The executives, special agents, and professional staff who work at national headquarters in Washington direct, organize, and coordinate FBI activities around the world. That includes: Setting the priorities and policies for the Bureau; Ensuring centralization and coordination at the highest levels; Helping lead the fight against terrorism by serving as a hub for intelligence and information; Providing operational and administrative support to field divisions and overseas offices; and Taking the lead within the FBI during times of national crisis or emergency, directing major case and operations.

The Immersion will take place on Tuesday March 1st visiting the two employers in the morning and afternoon.

The application will open on January 20th and close at 9AM on February 1st. Please click on 'join event' to fill out your application.
