Alejandro Escovedo's life reads like a primer in renewal. He was around at the dawn of American punk rock in his band the Nuns, which opened the last Sex Pistols show. His next band, Rank and File, marked a key stage in the early evolution of what became known as alternative country. Since then he's been a solo songwriter full of amazing stories, a full-blast rocker, and a survivor back from the brink of death. A superb electric guitarist, Alejandro has forged a new and distinctive instrumental collaboration with a member of his band each time he's come to The Ark over the last several years, and his Ark shows are not to be missed! Alejandro's latest album, "Big Station," shows the influence of Bruce Springsteen. Tonight's special guest is Lucette, a fast-rising songwriter whose voice is gentle yet chilling.
