Profane Illuminations: An International Glimpse Into the Historical Avant-Garde
A Faculty Panel with Kerstin Barndt, Xiaobing Tang, Juli Highfill, Janaya Lasker-Ferretti, and Jindrich Toman
This faculty panel, featuring University of Michigan professors who are experts on different regional movements of the historic avant-garde, aims to explore the avant-garde as an international, cosmopolitan phenomenon. The panel will highlight the mutual influence and overlap of various regional avant-gardes, as well as their differences.
Short lectures from panelists will be followed by a Q&A session facilitated by the Avant-Garde Interest Group.
