The Trans Health Access panel brings together a diverse group of transgender advocates and community members to discuss barriers faced by the trans community when trying to access healthcare. Our discussion will unpack many of these obstacles, including socio-structural/policy barriers, finding culturally sensitive providers, and navigating insurance coverage. Panelists will also discuss best practices and share potential remedies to improve transgender people’s access to healthcare services. Panel topics were chosen and prioritized in collaboration with local trans identified activists. The event, hosted by Out in Public and OUTbreak, will be held at the University of Michigan Ford School Betty Ford Classroom on March 31st at 6-8pm, and attendance will be open to the public.
