Workshop Description:
Are you passionate about social justice, advocacy, or service and trying to determine your next steps at UM or beyond? Interested in pursuing a career that allows you to enact positive social change? Join us for our final Learning in Community workshop and engage with a panel of both community members in Washtenaw county and faculty and staff at UM about their experiences working for positive social change in their careers. Through hearing about the benefits, challenges, and everyday tasks of positions in direct service, activism, engaged scholarship, political participation, and financial stewardship, you will not only be able to access what career pathway best matches with your personality, talents, and passions, but also be able to learn about how to take steps in order to attain your future career goals. RSVP here by Friday, April 8th!
In addition to engaging with this panel about pathways for contributing to positive social change from 6 to 7:30 pm, we invite you to join us for the 2016 Ginsberg Student Project Showcase from 5pm-6pm. During the Showcase, UM students will present about the community engagement initiatives and social change projects in which they have participated throughout the year. The Showcase will take the form of an informal poster-session, which will allow you to connect with your peers about their work in community engagement, ask questions, and find ways to get involved if interested.
