ASC and DAAS at the 34th African World Festival Detroit
The African Studies Center and the Department of Afroamerican and African Studies take part in the 34th African World Festival Detroit on August 19-21, 2016. This annual event, which attracts over 150,000 people each year, showcases information, performances, crafts, food, and activities for all ages. The festival will feature a special performance by the U-M African Student Association’s Amala Dance Team on Sunday, August 21
A few of U-M’s student organizations will join ASC and DAAS at the festival. The U-M booth will provide information and presentations about the various academic programs and student organizations on campus related to Africa and its diaspora.
