Why Are We Sending Innocent People to Prison?
The Double-Edged Sword of DNA
The discovery of DNA has exposed awful errors in our criminal justice system. Almost 1,800 people serving time in prison have been exonerated. Who are they and how did this happen?
Last year alone five people on death row were exonerated while waiting to be executed. The Hon. Donald E. Shelton, Director of the Criminology and Criminal Justice Program at UM Dearborn explores how these innocent people ended up in prison and what changes need to be made to prevent such miscarriages of justice in the future.
This study group for those 50 and over will meet for 90 minutes on Wednesday, November 16.
