Abstract:
Public School Districts across the country are setting ambitious student performance goals, but quite often the types of actions they undertake to reach them aren't nearly as ambitious. As part of my role at Education Resource Strategies, I've been working to build a tool that uses causal research, and district administrative data to illustrate the relative performance gains districts might expect from different actions in order to help them understand this disconnect and bridge the gap between ambition and action. We have an initial prototype and are currently testing our assumptions and filling in gaps in the underlying research we're basing it on.
