Exploring Barriers to Health--Tackle Two Real Cases from the UM Student Run Free Clinic
If you are interested in health disparities or are preparing to go to your medical school interviews, this program is for you! Medical students from the UM Student Run Free Clinic will walk you through two real cases from their clinic. You will have the chance to explore the difficulties that some patients face when trying toobtain insurance, prescriptions, and access to necessary medical services like counseling and dentistry. The hope is that you leave this session with a better understanding of how health disparities impact a patient’s experience in the healthcare system and what medical students and physicians can do to provide the best care possible.
