Research Advances in Lewy Body Dementia
James E. Galvin, MD, MPH - Visiting Professor
Dr. James Galvin will present the 1st annual Carl Rinne Lewy Body Dementia Initiative Lecture at Neurology Grand Rounds on Wednesday, October 26 at 10:30 AM in the Danto Auditorium, U-M Cardiovascular Center: “Research Advances in Lewy Body Dementia”.
James E. Galvin, MD, MPH is Professor and Associate Dean for Clinical Research, Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine; Professor, Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing; Director, Institute for Healthy Aging & Lifespan Studies at Florida Atlantic University. He is also the Scientific Advisor for the Lewy Body Dementia Association.
Dr. Galvin is internationally known as a thought-leader in characterizing the clinical, cognitive, behavioral, and biomarker features of Lewy Body Dementia, and as the creator of novel clinical assessment scales to improve dementia detection, including the Lewy Body Composite Risk Score, and the Quick Dementia Rating System.
Note: Dr. Galvin will also be giving a community talk for families affected by LBD on Tuesday, October 25, at 3:00 p.m. at the U-M Depression Center, Rachel Upjohn Building Auditorium, 4250 Plymouth Rd., Ann Arbor. The title of his talk is: What’s New in Lewy Body Dementia
