Convex real projective structures on compact surfaces

The deformation space of convex real projective structures on a compact surface S is homeomorphic to a cell of dimension given by 8 times the Euler characteristic of S; there are coordinates for the space, described by Goldman, which are analogous to the Fenchel-Nielsen coordinates for Teichmüller space. I will describe these coordinates, and use them to produce concrete examples of convex projective structures on surfaces.
