Presented By: A. Alfred Taubman College of Architecture + Urban Planning

EXHIBITION OPENING: "TRIPTYCHS," TERRY SARGENT RETROSPECTIVE

Join us for a strolling brunch as we celebrate the work of Terry Sargent.
Terry Sargent’s concept sketches, Barbara Ratner’s renderings, and Jonathan Hillyer’s architectural photographs illustrating in evolutionary fashion their work in common on seven different commissions, from initial concepts through built projects, will be successively displayed—first at the College of Architecture of Georgia Tech and then at the Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning at the University of Michigan. Atlanta was where Sargent practiced for much of his early career and Taubman was Sargent’s alma mater where he received his Bachelor of Architecture and Master of Urban Planning degrees.
The buildings exhibited will be taken from the years when Sargent served as Senior Design Principal of Lord & Sargent (subsequently Lord Aeck Sargent) from 1983 until 2014 and will be illustrated by 2-D physical representations and projected digital media. Written commentary by surviving collaborators will accompany each project. Drafts of three sketch/rendering/photograph “triptychs” are included at the end of this Prospectus which illustrate the character of display boards contemplated. Organized by Jean Wineman and Christian Unverzagt.
