The leaders of many of the most prestigious universities in the world will convene during the bicentennial year to discuss and debate the public mission — and the public's support — of research universities. President Mark Schlissel will host the panel and Ruth Simmons, President Emerita of Brown University, will moderate.

The colloquium panel consists of members of the Board of the Tanner Lectures on Human Values, who are the leaders of some of the most prestigious educational institutions in the world:
