Study the arts in one of the most beautiful and culturally rich cities of Europe.
This program is a unique study opportunity led by UM faculty and offering in-depth exposure to Spanish artistic life in seaside Barcelona. Visit the otherworldly Sagrada Família, stroll the cobblestone streets of the Gothic quarter, and explore Catalonian cuisine, politics, and history.
Earn 6 credits in 6 weeks on this UM faculty-led program A 3-credit art history class will introduce you to the great artists associated with Barcelona—painters such as Picasso, Dalí, and Miró, architect Antoni Gaudí, and filmmaker Luis Buñuel—as well as other great artists of Spain including Velázquez, Goya, and Sorolla. A second 3-credit art class lets you explore another facet of the artistic traditions of this great city.
This 6-week program includes an excursion to Madrid as well as day trips to smaller cities and towns.
