U-M Box is approved for most types of sensitive data, including HIPAA. However, the inherent technical security and legal agreements are not enough. It is critical that people storing sensitive data in Box are aware of their responsibility in properly configuring and providing access to files in Box.
This session will demonstrate how to securely use U-M Box to store and collaborate on sensitive or regulated data including hiding collaborators from each other, allowing access to data by only by named collaborators, choosing the right permission levels, and advanced features that enhance security.
Summary material will be provided, allowing participants to take concrete guidance back to the office, along with web links to reference for continuously updated information.
