Three different orchestral palettes will be featured in this concert by the University Philharmonia Orchestra– the first half, the grand and vivid textures of Grieg’s incidental music for Sigurd Jorsalfar will be followed by the more intimate Mother Goose Suite by Maurice Ravel. The concert will close with Sibelius’s Third Symphony and its hypnotic and powerful orchestral sound for which the Finnish composer is known.
